Harlow Renaissance has worked with Harlow Council to help establish a planning framework which will deliver the longer term growth and regeneration of Harlow. We have always been of the opinion that a bold and transformational vision is required as a first step for Harlow to achieve its undoubted potential. The starting point for this must be a Local Development Framework that inspires and enables change of the highest quality.
We have supported Harlow Council through its LDF process details of which are included here, as well as sponsoring the production of a Design Guide to raise standards and delivering events to promote wide debate and radical thinking. All of these activities have been designed to raise aspirations, promote opportunity and deliver a higher profile for Harlow.
We also worked with Harlow Council, the Homes and Communities Agency and Harlow’s sub-regional partners to produce a Local Investment Plan for the wider area. This document sets out the needs and opportunities for the area and a range of deliverable activity to capitalise upon these opportunities. This now provides a programme of action for the new West Essex Alliance operating within the wider Essex, Kent and East Sussex Local Enterprise Partnership.
