Harlow Enterprise Hub was officially opened by Rt Hon Lord Mandelson, Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform on 4 December 2008, and has been developed by a partnership comprising Harlow Council, East of England Development Agency (EEDA) and Harlow Renaissance Ltd.
The Hub is housed in The Kao-Hockham Building (formerly Great Eastern House) on Edinburgh Way, and was purchased by Harlow Council in 2006 using funding from Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and EEDA. In January 2008 T.J. Evers began the refurbishment work on the building, and in May 2008, Harlow Council contracted with NWES (Norfolk & Waveney Enterprise Services) to manage and operate the Hub.
In 2009, Harlow Enterprise Hub was the runner-up in the Local Authority Building Control East of England Excellence Awards. In 2010 it was shortlisted in the Regeneration category of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors East of England Awards.
Harlow Enterprise Hub provides a modern, supportive working environment for individuals and small partnerships taking their first steps in starting or developing their new business, whilst providing a prime location for small established businesses looking for prestigious premises as a platform for growth.
With a prominent location on the A414 on Edinburgh Way (in the Templefields business district), Harlow Enterprise Hub is within easy reach of Harlow Town Station and the M11 motorway. There is also ample free parking for businesses.
Harlow Enterprise Hub offers three floors of quality office-type accommodation which can be tailored to meet specific needs. Accommodation starts at 200 square feet and is offered on flexible, "easy-in/easy out" terms. Tenants are also be able to access sound business advice and business support services as part of their occupancy agreement.
