Pancake Day Races

Residents and businesses in Harlow are invited to join Harlow Police, Harlow College catering students and St Clare Hospice by entering teams for this year’s Pancake Day races in Market Square.

The races are being held on Thursday, 11 February,  a week before Pancake Day itself, which is during half term on Tuesday, 16 February, so that the catering students will be able to participate.

Teams of four will race 100 meters, with each member of the team running a 25 metre leg, flipping their pancakes high in the air at least three times on each leg of the race.Residents, students and businesses in Harlow are all welcome to enter a team.

Cost to enter is £1.00 per adult and 50p per student, with all proceeds going to St. Clare Hospice. Racers are also able to get themselves sponsored, with donations going to St. Clare.

The fun starts at 11.30am in Market Square, with victorious teams being presented medals by the Chairman of Harlow Council, Edna Stevens.
